Booking terms
Operator: James Gordon, trading as House of Deceit, 59 Northwood Road, Whitstable, Kent, CT5 2HA. Contact: house@houseofdeceit.com.
Price and group size
The standard price is £166 per person. A standard booking requires at least 10 paying guests, including the lead booker. Online bookings are for groups of 10–15. Groups of 16–20 must enquire before booking and are subject to approval and suitable sleeping arrangements.
Reserving a date
The lead booker reserves a date by completing the booking form and paying £166. This payment covers the lead booker’s place and is deducted from the total. A form without payment does not reserve a date.
Balance
The minimum booking value is £1,660. After the initial £166 payment, the remaining minimum balance of £1,494 must be paid within 14 calendar days. Group members may pay separately using the correct group reference.
If the minimum balance is not received within 14 days, we may cancel the provisional booking and release the date. The initial £166 will not normally be refunded. Other payments will be refunded less reasonable costs or losses. We will make reasonable efforts to contact the lead booker first.
Cancellation by the group
Cancellations must be emailed by the lead booker. More than 12 weeks before arrival, payments are refunded less the initial £166. Between 8 and 12 weeks, 75% of payments above the initial £166 are refunded. Between 4 and 8 weeks, 50% is refunded. Less than 4 weeks before arrival, no refund is normally due.
If we resell the weekend, additional money recovered will be refunded less the initial £166 and reasonable costs.
Individual changes
After the minimum group price has been paid, one guest withdrawing does not reduce that minimum price. A replacement guest may be nominated without charge if they meet the participation requirements and complete the induction.
Date transfers
More than 12 weeks before arrival, one transfer may be made subject to availability and a £100 administration charge. Between 8 and 12 weeks, a transfer may be considered subject to availability and a £250 charge. Within 8 weeks, a requested transfer is treated as a cancellation unless agreed otherwise. Any price increase for the new date must be paid.
Cancellation by us
If we cancel, the lead booker may choose a full refund of payments or transfer them to an available alternative date. We are not responsible for separate travel, food or other arrangements, except where the law requires otherwise.
The experience
Activities, timings and their order may change where reasonably necessary for safety, staffing, weather or operational reasons. House of Deceit is fictional entertainment involving themes of murder, deception and elimination. Eliminated players remain involved in the weekend.
Date-specific service
This is leisure and accommodation supplied for a specific date. The usual 14-day cancellation right does not normally apply. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
